Champions of human rights

Oliver & Hasani take pride on representing clients on many applications involving human rights law, including applications and appeals pursuant to Articles 3 and 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

We challenge the lawfulness of the detention of claimants, who have been detained under the immigration powers and our solicitors have a long standing expertise on Judicial Review applications, including applications for interim relief and all other Public Law issues, which involve the actions or failure of the government departments to act in a manner prescribed by the law of the United Kingdom or international law, to which the UK is a signatory.

We can offer Legal Aid

Oliver & Hasani operates a Legal Aid Agency contract to undertake legal help and controlled legal representation and Civil Legal Aid Publicly Funded work for those applications and appeals and indeed applications for Judicial Review/Interim relief, which fall within the legal aid entitlement means and merits assessment criteria and within the scope for grant of public funding.

Legal Aid is not always free and you may have to pay contributions to the Legal Aid Agency, subject to assessment of your means.

We have the experience

Throughout the years, our experienced solicitors and Law Society accredited caseworker have continuously represented clients on their asylum claims, having left their countries due to international conflicts, civil war or political unrest.

UK prides itself for providing sanctuary to those who are in genuine need of international protection, who owing to well-founded fear of persecution are unwilling or unable to return to their countries of origin. Any application for asylum must be done promptly upon entry to the UK and any delay may be adversary to your claim for asylum.

We also represent a number of client who claim to be victims of human trafficking and modern day slavery and deal with their often extremely complex claims, themselves being vulnerable individuals, requiring specialist knowledge to handle their trafficking and asylum claims and any subsequent appeals and/or applications for Judicial Review from the time they are referred to NRM and until a conclusive decision is made on whether they have been victims of slavery.
